I built LicenceReady after watching friends and newcomers to Canada struggle to find reliable, free practice tests for their driving knowledge exams. Most study sites are either paywalled, full of outdated questions, or simply not designed for the way people actually study — on their phones, quickly, without wanting to create an account.
LicenceReady started as a single Ontario G1 practice test and has grown to cover all 10 Canadian provinces and the citizenship test. Every question is written from the official provincial handbooks. Every feature — flashcards, timed simulation, explained answers — was built based on feedback from real learners. And it's always been completely free.

Why We Built LicenceReady
Getting a driver's licence or Canadian citizenship is one of the most important milestones for millions of Canadians and newcomers each year. Yet preparation resources are either locked behind paywalls, scattered across different provincial websites, or simply not good enough to build real confidence before test day.
LicenceReady was built to fix that. We created a single, modern, free platform covering every Canadian province's driving knowledge test and the Canadian citizenship test — with high-quality questions, visual road signs, flashcards, and timed simulation tests. Everything you need, in one place, at no cost.
Our platform is supported by advertising so that it can remain completely free for every learner. We never ask for a credit card, email address, or account creation. You can open any test and start practising within seconds.
Our Content
How Our Questions Are Written
Every driving practice question on LicenceReady is written from the official provincial driver's handbook for that province. Our content team reads each handbook in full, extracts the testable rules, and writes questions that reflect the style and difficulty of the real provincial knowledge tests.
For the Canadian citizenship test, all questions are derived from the official Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship guide published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). We cover all six topic areas tested by IRCC.
We review and update our question banks whenever provincial handbooks or citizenship guides are updated to make sure our content stays current and accurate. If you notice an error or outdated information, please contact us — we take accuracy seriously.

Are these the same questions as on the real test? +
Our questions are written from the same official source material as the real tests — provincial driver's handbooks and the IRCC Discover Canada guide. The exact wording of government test questions is not publicly released, but studying from the same source material is the most effective preparation approach. Thousands of Canadians use LicenceReady to pass their tests every month.
Is LicenceReady affiliated with any government? +
No. LicenceReady is an independent educational platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any provincial government, the Ministry of Transportation, DriveTest, ICBC, SAAQ, SGI, MPI, IRCC, or any other government agency or licensing authority. We are a privately operated study tool.
How do I report an error in a question? +

Yes — LicenceReady is available on the Google Play Store for Android devices. An iOS version for iPhone and iPad is in development. In the meantime, the website is fully optimised for all mobile browsers and works great on phones and tablets.
