New Brunswick Class 7 Knowledge Practice Test 2025 — Free

New Brunswick's graduated licensing system is administered by Service New Brunswick. To obtain a Class 7 Learner's licence you must be at least 16 years old, visit a Service NB centre, present identification, pass a vision test, and pass the written knowledge exam. The test fee is approximately $19.75. As a Class 7 Learner you must maintain zero blood alcohol, drive only with a fully licenced supervisor in the front seat, and may not drive between midnight and 5 a.m. You must hold the Class 7 for a minimum of 12 months before taking the Class 5 road test.

The New Brunswick knowledge test has 30 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 24 correctly — 80% — to pass. Questions are drawn from the Driver's Handbook for New Brunswick, which covers road signs, traffic rules, right-of-way, and GLP restrictions. The test is delivered on a computer at Service NB centres. If you fail, you must wait at least one business day before retaking. As one of Canada's two officially bilingual provinces, New Brunswick road signs are posted in both English and French — and the knowledge test is available in both languages.

The signs portion of the exam tests recognition of regulatory, warning, and information signs — many of which appear in bilingual format on New Brunswick roads. The rules section covers intersection right-of-way, roundabout procedure, school-zone speed limits (50 km/h or posted lower), highway following distances, and the province's distracted-driving law, which bans handheld device use and carries fines plus demerit points. New Brunswick also has specific rules about logging trucks and heavy equipment on rural roads — a common hazard for new drivers in the province's forested interior.

LicenceReady's New Brunswick practice tests are based on the official Driver's Handbook and formatted to match the 30-question computerized exam. Target 90%+ consistently before visiting a Service NB location. The official handbook is available as a free PDF from the Service New Brunswick website in both English and French.
